Mobile Streaming Apps Guide

Setup guides for the best mobile streaming apps. Configure SRTLA bonding for reliable streaming over cellular networks with automatic failover.

Why SRTLA for Mobile Streaming?

SRTLA (SRT with Link Aggregation) bonds multiple cellular connections together for maximum reliability. This means:

  • Connection Redundancy: If one network connection loses signal, others keep the stream alive
  • Higher Bitrate: Combine bandwidth from multiple connections
  • Better in Crowds: Different carriers handle congestion differently

Moblin (iOS)

Moblin is the most popular iOS streaming app for IRL streamers. It supports SRTLA bonding, allowing you to use multiple cellular connections simultaneously.

Quick Setup

  1. Download Moblin from the App Store
  2. Open Settings → Stream → Add new stream
  3. Select "SRTLA" as the protocol
  4. Enter your server details from the IRLServer dashboard

Connection Settings

Pro Tips for Mobile Streaming

Battery Management: Enable battery saver mode for background apps. Use a power bank - streaming at 1080p can drain your battery in 2-3 hours.
Data Usage: At 5000 kbps, you'll use about 2.2 GB per hour. Use our bitrate calculator to plan your data needs.
Heat Management: Phones can throttle when hot. Remove your case and avoid direct sunlight during long streams.
Network Priority: Disable WiFi if you're only using cellular, or your phone may try to switch networks and cause drops.
